Biography
Miguel Mendoza was a Cuban film producer. Born in Havana in 1942, he joined the Instituto Cubano del Arte e Industria Cinematográficos (ICAIC) in 1959, working in various roles before becoming a production director.
He produced Memories of Underdevelopment (1968), directed by Tomás Gutiérrez Alea, and worked on numerous other ICAIC films including Soy Cuba (1964) and, after a period away, Strawberry and Chocolate (1993). Mendoza received the Premio Nacional de Cine in 2019 and died in Havana on 17 March 2019.
