Biography
Mihály Víg is a Hungarian composer, songwriter, guitarist, singer and actor. Born on 21 September 1957 in Budapest into a family of musicians, he co-founded the bands Balaton in 1979 and Trabant in 1980.
Víg has composed scores for several films by Béla Tarr, including Autumn Almanac (1984), Damnation (1988), Satantango (1994), Werckmeister Harmonies (2000), The Man from London (2008) and The Turin Horse (2011). He also contributed to the story of Satantango and played the lead role of Irimiás in the film. His score for The Turin Horse received a nomination for the European Film Award for Best Composer.
