Biography
Mike Berchem is a television writer and producer. He contributed as a writer to The Closer (2005), with episodes from 2006 to 2012, and to its spin-off Major Crimes (2012), with episodes from 2012 to 2017. He also served in various producer capacities on both series, including as executive producer on Major Crimes.
Before entering television, Berchem worked as a homicide detective with the Los Angeles Police Department for over two decades. His law enforcement experience informed the writing on the shows, where he additionally acted as a technical advisor early in his television career. He appeared in small acting roles on The Closer and Robbery Homicide Division.
