Biography
Mike Ploog is an American comic book artist, storyboard artist and film production designer. Born Michael George Ploog on 13 July 1940 in Mankato, Minnesota, he began his career in animation before joining Marvel Comics in the early 1970s, where he was the original artist on Ghost Rider and Werewolf by Night and worked on Man-Thing and The Monster of Frankenstein.
Since the 1980s Ploog has worked primarily in film as a designer and storyboard artist. His credits include post-production work on Ghostbusters (1984), storyboarding on Return to Oz (1985) and The Unbearable Lightness of Being (1988), and production design on the "Smooth Criminal" segment of Moonwalker (1988). He has also contributed to projects directed by Ralph Bakshi and Jim Henson.
