Biography
Mikhail Mikhailovich Kozakov (1934–2011) was a Soviet, Russian and Israeli actor, theatre and film director, and screenwriter. Born in Leningrad, he graduated from the Moscow Art Theatre School in 1956. He began his career on stage at the Moscow Mayakovsky Theatre and later worked at the Sovremennik Theatre, the Moscow Art Theatre, the Theatre on Malaya Bronnaya and Lenkom.
On screen he appeared in Amphibian Man (1962) as Zurita, The Red and the White (1967) as Nestor, Hello, I'm Your Aunt! (1975) as Colonel Francis Chesney and The Pokrovsky Gates (1983). He also voiced the Elephant in the animated short 38 Parrots (1976) and played Doctor Kogan in Lovey-Dovey (2007). Kozakov directed several films and television productions and received the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR in 1980.
