Biography
Mikhail Kuznetsov was a Soviet actor. He was born on 25 February 1918 in Bogorodsk, Moscow Governorate, RSFSR, and died on 23 August 1986 in Moscow.
He trained at the dramatic department of the State Opera and Drama Studio named after K. S. Stanislavsky, graduating in 1941. Kuznetsov began appearing in films in 1940 and became known for his role as Fyodor Basmanov in Sergei Eisenstein's Ivan the Terrible, Part I (1944) and Ivan the Terrible, Part II: The Boyars' Plot (1958).
Other notable roles include appearances in Mashenka (1942), Taras Shevchenko (1951) and Sinyaya tetrad (1964). He received the Stalin Prize in 1952, was named Honoured Artist of the Ukrainian SSR in 1955 and People's Artist of the RSFSR in 1964.
