Biography
Mireille Perrey, also credited as Camille Perret, was a French stage and film actress. Born Camille Perret on 3 February 1904 in Bordeaux, she studied violin at the conservatoire in Toulouse before training in acting at the Paris Conservatoire, where she won a first prize in comedy in 1926. She began her career at the Odéon and appeared in leading film roles during the 1930s.
Between 1942 and 1947 she was a member of the Comédie-Française. She later became known for character parts, including La Nourrice in Max Ophüls’s The Earrings of Madame de... (1953), Mme Rémy in Dr. Knock (1951) and Tante Élise in The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964). Perrey also appeared in the British comedy Hotel Sahara (1951). She died on 8 May 1991 in Fontainebleau, Seine-et-Marne, aged 87.
