Biography
Mitsuko Mito (also credited as Mitsuko Sekiba) was a Japanese actress. She was born Mitsuko Sekiba on 23 March 1919 in Sakaino, Niitsuru, Fukushima Prefecture, and died on 5 April 1981.
She appeared in more than 150 films between 1935 and 1973, working with directors including Kenji Mizoguchi, Yasujirō Ozu and Kaneto Shindō. Her roles include Ohama in Ugetsu (1953), Oko in the Samurai trilogy (Samurai I: Musashi Miyamoto, 1954; Samurai II: Duel at Ichijoji Temple, 1955; Samurai III: Duel at Ganryu Island, 1956), Fumi in There Was a Father (1942) and a part in Mr. Thank You (1936).
