Biography

Moritz Binder is a German screenwriter. He was born on 22 July 1982 in Munich. After working as a television journalist, he studied documentary film and television journalism at the Hochschule für Fernsehen und Film München, graduating in 2017.

Binder has written episodes for the long-running series Tatort (2021–2026) and other German television productions including München Mord (2020) and Neue Geschichten vom Pumuckl (2023). He developed the story for the 2024 comedy Everything's Fifty Fifty and co-wrote the screenplay for the feature film September 5 (2024) with Tim Fehlbaum and Alex David. The film received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Screenplay, and Binder won the Deutscher Filmpreis for the screenplay.
