Biography
Mortimer Wilson (1876–1932) was an American composer of classical music who also wrote original orchestral scores for several silent films in the 1920s.
He studied in Chicago and Leipzig before teaching and conducting in the United States, including periods at the University of Nebraska and with the Atlanta Philharmonic Orchestra. Wilson composed the music for Douglas Fairbanks productions including The Mark of Zorro (1920), The Thief of Bagdad (1924), Don Q, Son of Zorro (1925) and The Black Pirate (1926). He authored three books on music theory and orchestration.
