Biography
Naemi Briese (4 March 1908 – 20 August 1980) was a Swedish film actress. Born Naemi Viktoria Louise Söderström in Stockholm, she appeared in over thirty films between 1932 and 1957, usually in supporting roles.
Her credits include the part of Monika's mother in Ingmar Bergman's Summer with Monika (1953). She also appeared in Bergman's A Ship to India (1947) as Selma and, uncredited, as Mrs Meijer in Sawdust and Tinsel (1953). Earlier roles encompass The Street (1949) and Ljuset från Lund (1955).
Briese worked in revue and theatre, including engagements with Karl Gerhard, and recorded more than 150 songs. She was married to actor Elof Ahrle from 1931 to 1939.
