Biography
Naji al Jerf was a Syrian journalist, filmmaker and activist. He co-founded the citizen journalism group Raqqa Is Being Slaughtered Silently (RBSS) and served as its spokesperson and filmmaker while based in Gaziantep, Turkey. He produced documentaries exposing Islamic State atrocities, including one on the killing of media activists and health workers in Aleppo.
Al Jerf was shot dead on 27 December 2015 in Gaziantep. He appears in archive footage as Self in the 2017 documentary City of Ghosts, which follows RBSS members.
