Biography
Najwa Nimri is a Spanish actress and singer. Born Najwa Nimri Urrutikoetxea in Pamplona in 1972, she moved to Bilbao as a child and later to Madrid. She made her acting debut in the 1995 film Salto al vacío, the first feature directed by Daniel Calparsoro, to whom she was married from 1995 to 2000.
Nimri is known for her roles in films directed by Alejandro Amenábar and Julio Medem, including Open Your Eyes (1997) and Sex and Lucía (2001). On television she has played Zulema Zahir in the series Locked Up (2015) and its spin-off, and Alicia Sierra in Money Heist (2017) and the spin-off Berlin (2023). She formed the musical duo Najwajean with Carlos Jean in 1996 and has released solo albums.
