Biography
Nasim Pedrad is an Iranian-born American actress and comedian. She was born in Tehran in 1981 and moved to the United States with her family as a young child. She graduated with a BFA from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television in 2003 and performed with the Groundlings improv troupe.
Pedrad was a cast member on the NBC sketch series Saturday Night Live from 2009 to 2014. She later appeared in the Fox sitcoms Mulaney (2014–2015), New Girl (2015–2018) as Aly Nelson, and Scream Queens (2015) as Gigi Caldwell, as well as the TBS series People of Earth (2017). She created, produced and starred in the sitcom Chad (2021–2024).
Her film credits include voice roles in Despicable Me 2 (2013) and The Lorax (2012), and the role of Dalia in the live-action Aladdin (2019).
