Biography

Nataasha Van Kampen was a British production designer, director and writer. She received her first feature credit as production designer on the crime film Rollin' with the Nines (2006), directed by Julian Gilbey, and later worked in the same capacity on Outlanders (2007).

She attended the Rudolf Steiner School in north London and began working in the industry at the age of 16, including work experience at 3 Mills Studios and a contract with Hewland International. Van Kampen studied at the London Film School, graduating in 2008. Her graduation film Nocturne (2009), which she wrote, produced, directed and designed, starred her stepfather, actor Mark Rylance, and screened at the London Young Film-makers Festival and the Moving Image Film Festival in Toronto. She also worked on commercials and music videos.

Van Kampen was born in London on 25 February 1984 and died on 1 July 2012, aged 28.
