Biography
Natasha Wanganeen is an Aboriginal Australian actress, writer and producer. Born on 20 June 1984 in South Australia, she began acting after her aunt suggested she attend a local drama workshop for Indigenous youth in Port Adelaide.
Her screen debut came at the age of 15 in the 2002 feature film Rabbit-Proof Fence, in which she played Nina, the dormitory boss. Subsequent film roles include Cargo (2017), Storm Boy (2019), 2067 (2020) and Limbo (2023). She has also appeared in television series including The Tourist (2022). In 2022 she co-wrote, produced and starred in the short film Bunker: The Last Fleet.
Wanganeen is a third cousin of Australian footballer Gavin Wanganeen and playwright Trevor Jamieson. She received the AFI Young Actor's Award in 2004 for her role in the television film Jessica.
