Biography
Nathan Halpern is a composer whose work spans narrative features, documentaries and short films. His credits include the scores for The Rider (2018), Minding the Gap (2018), Swallow (2020), Emily the Criminal (2022), Watcher (2022), Will & Harper (2024) and Ha-Chan, Shake Your Booty! (2026).
Halpern’s first film score was for the Emmy- and Peabody-winning documentary Marina Abramović: The Artist Is Present (2012). He has received Emmy and Hollywood Music in Media Award nominations, and films he has scored have premiered at Sundance, Cannes, Venice and other festivals, with several appearing on Barack Obama’s annual lists of favourite films.
