Biography
Nathan Whitehead is an American composer for film, television and video games. He began his career in Hollywood working in sound design before contributing additional music and arrangements to projects including Pride and Glory (2008), Transformers: Dark of the Moon (2011) and entries in the Gears of War video game series.
Whitehead is best known for scoring the The Purge film series, including The Purge (2013), The Purge: Anarchy (2014) and The Purge: Election Year (2016). He provided the score for the TNT series The Last Ship (2014–2018), collaborating with Steve Jablonsky on the main themes. His other credits include Keanu (2016), Beyond Skyline (2017) and the video game Days Gone (2019).
Whitehead has received ASCAP Screen Music Awards for his work on The Purge, The Purge: Anarchy and The Last Ship. He is originally from East Tennessee and is based in Los Angeles.
