Biography
Nazan Kesal (née Kırılmış) is a Turkish actress and director. She was born on 28 March 1969 in Manisa, Turkey, and graduated from the Theatre Department of Dokuz Eylül University in İzmir in 1991. She has worked as an actress and director with state theatres including Diyarbakır State Theater (1996–2004) and Bursa State Theater, as well as private companies such as Ankara Sanatevi Theater and Theater Istanbul.
Kesal is known for her film roles in Distant (2002, as Lover, credited as Nazan Kırılmış), Climates (2006, as Serap), Hair (2010, as Meryem) and Delibal (2015, as Selma), and for television appearances including Mrs. Fazilet and Her Daughters (2017, as Fazilet Çamkıran) and Kübra (2024, as Dilek). She has also directed for theatre and short films. She won the Golden Orange for Best Supporting Actress for Climates and awards for her performance in Hair.
