Biography
Nelly Frijda (born Nelly Wiegel) is a Dutch actress and cabaret performer. She made her stage debut in 1955 in Wim Kan's cabaret and later appeared in plays, musicals and around twenty films, including four directed by Pim de la Parra.
She is best known for playing Ma Flodder in the three Flodder films (1986, 1992 and 1995) and the associated television series (1993–1999). Earlier film roles include a part in Keetje Tippel (1975) and Annie in A Question of Silence (1982). She has also provided Dutch voice-overs for animated films such as The Little Mermaid (1989) and The Lion King II: Simba's Pride (1998). Frijda retired from the stage in 2012.
