Biography
Nicholas Bela was a Hungarian-born actor. Born Miklós Béla in Budapest on 18 July 1900, he trained at the Budapest Academy of Drama and worked as a stage actor at the Comedy Theatre before appearing in Hungarian silent films such as A csodadoktor (1926) and Átok vára (1927).
He emigrated to the United States around 1928 and took roles in Hollywood films, often in supporting or uncredited parts. He is credited as Nick Bela for his role as Ritz Colonna in Little Caesar (1931) and appeared uncredited as a coach passenger in Dracula (1931). Other credits include The Lady in Question (1940) as Nicholas Farkas and various uncredited parts in the early 1940s.
Bela also worked as a screenwriter and playwright. He died in New York City on 18 November 1963.
