Biography
Nicholas St. John is an American screenwriter, also known by the names Nicodemo Oliverio, Nicholas George and N.G. St. John. He has written or co-written the screenplays for nine films directed by Abel Ferrara.
St. John attended Lakeland High School in New York, where he met Ferrara, and both later graduated from New York University. His early credits include the short films Nicky's Film (1971) and The Hold Up (1972), as well as the 1976 film 9 Lives of a Wet Pussy (as Nicholas George). Subsequent work with Ferrara includes The Driller Killer (1979), Ms. 45 (1981), Fear City (1984), China Girl (1987), King of New York (1990), Dangerous Game (1993), Body Snatchers (1993), The Addiction (1995) and The Funeral (1996).
For The Funeral (1996), St. John received a nomination for the Independent Spirit Award for Best Screenplay.
