Biography
Nicola Carraro is an Italian film producer. Born in Milan on 1 February 1942, he is the grandson of publisher Angelo Rizzoli. He began his career in publishing, working at the Rizzoli company from the 1960s and later becoming president of Sperling & Kupfer after acquiring it in 1975.
In 1977 Carraro moved to Rome and acquired a stake in Vides S.p.A., through which he entered film production. His credits include Amori miei (1978), Christ Stopped at Eboli (1979, also known as Cristo si è fermato a Eboli), Café Express (1980), Ratataplan (1979) and Operation Ogre (1979). He has also served as executive producer on the television miniseries The Endless Game (1989).
