Biography
Nicole Hiss is a French actress born in 1939 in Rouen. She trained at the Conservatoire de Rouen and the École Charles Dullin, where she studied under Georges Leroy, who introduced her to Marie Bell; Bell subsequently cast her in a stage production of Le Dixième Homme by Paddy Chayefsky.
Hiss is known for her work in several films by Marguerite Duras, including La Femme du Gange (1974), India Song (1975) as the Voix intemporelle (voice), and Son nom de Venise dans Calcutta désert (1976). Other screen credits include Destroy, She Said (1969), Tea in the Harem (1985) and various French television series and films from the 1960s onwards.
