Biography
Nikolay Sergeev (1894–1988) was a Soviet actor who worked in both theatre and film. He trained at the Moscow Theatre School and performed with the Central Academic Theatre of the Soviet Army for many years.
He appeared in more than sixty films and television productions. Sergeev is known for his portrayal of Theophanus the Greek in Andrei Tarkovsky's Andrei Rublev (1966), as well as roles in A Big Family (1954) and Fathers and Sons (1959). He received the title of People's Artist of the RSFSR in 1970.
