Biography
Nikolay Grabbe (also credited as Nikolai Grabbe or Н. Граббе) was a Soviet actor who specialised in supporting and episodic roles in film, as well as extensive voice work in animation and dubbing.
He graduated from the All-Union State Institute of Cinematography (VGIK) in 1943 and began working at the Soyuzdetfilm studio (later the Gorky Film Studio). From 1967 he was also associated with the Theatre-Studio of the Film Actor. Grabbe appeared as Stepan, Centurion of the Grand Duke in Andrei Tarkovsky's Andrei Rublev (1966). Other film credits include Wings (1966), The Red Snowball Tree (1974), Afonya (1975) and Mimino (1977). His voice roles include Captain Buran in The Secret of the Third Planet (1981) and characters in The Tale of Tsar Saltan (1984).
Grabbe died in Moscow in 1990.
