Biography

Norman Briski is an Argentine actor, director and playwright. Born Naum Briski on 2 January 1938 in Santa Fe, he grew up in Córdoba and made his stage debut in 1955. He became active in experimental theatre in the 1960s and founded the independent company Octubre in the early 1970s.

Threatened by the Argentine Anticommunist Alliance, he went into exile in Spain in 1975. There he appeared in films including Carlos Saura’s Elisa, vida mía (1977) and Mamá cumple cien años (1979). He returned to Argentina after the restoration of democracy in 1983 and played Emilio in Los días de junio (1985). Briski founded Teatro Caliban in Buenos Aires in 1987.

His later screen roles include Rafael in An Unexpected Love (2018), Groisman in I Married a Dumbass (2016) and Ruso in Argentina, 1985 (2022). He has also written and directed for stage and screen.
