Biography
Ntando Mahlangu is a South African Paralympic athlete who appears as himself in the 2020 Netflix documentary Rising Phoenix. The film profiles several Paralympians and the history of the Games.
Born in 2002 in Mpumalanga, Mahlangu has bilateral fibular hemimelia and underwent amputations at the age of ten. He began competing in para-athletics shortly afterwards and represented South Africa at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. He later won gold medals and set records at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics in the T61 classification.
