Biography
Oanh Ly is a Vietnamese-American television writer and producer. She was born in Sài Gòn, Việt Nam, and her family fled as boat refugees, spending time in a refugee camp in Malaysia before settling in Texas. She studied playwriting at the University of Texas at Austin and received a James Michener Playwriting Fellowship.
Ly began her television career on the CBS series Criminal Minds (2005), where she worked as a writer, story editor and executive story editor from 2007 to 2010. Subsequent credits include writing and producing on Revolution (2012), The Messengers (2015), Black Box (2014), The Catch (2016), Chilling Adventures of Sabrina (2018) and Sweet Tooth (2021). She has also mentored young writers at the Blank Theatre Young Playwrights Festival.
