Biography
Oleksiy Serhiyovych Gorbunov (also credited as Oleksiy Horbunov) is a Ukrainian actor and director. Born in Kyiv in 1961, he graduated from the Kyiv National I. K. Karpenko-Kary Theatre, Cinema and Television University in 1984 and began his screen career the same year in Unlabeled Cargo. He worked at the Oleksandr Dovzhenko Film Studio until 1995 and has appeared in theatre productions in Kyiv.
He received the title of Honoured Artist of Ukraine in 1991 and People's Artist of Ukraine in 2016. Gorbunov is known for roles including juror #9 in Nikita Mikhalkov's 12 (2007), Labukh in Hipsters (2008), Khorzov in Möbius (2013) and Mr Ivanovich in The Last Mercenary (2021). He played Mikhaël Kharlov in seasons 4 and 5 of the French series The Bureau (2015–2020).
In the 1990s he worked as a taxi driver during an industry downturn. He has continued to work in Ukrainian and international productions into the 2020s.
