Biography
Olivier Dahan is a French film director and screenwriter. He was born on 26 June 1967 in La Ciotat, Bouches-du-Rhône. He studied at the École d'Art de Marseille, graduating in 1991, and began his career making short films and music videos before directing his first feature, Déjà mort, in 1998.
Dahan wrote and directed La Vie en Rose (2007), a biopic of Édith Piaf starring Marion Cotillard. The film won two Academy Awards, including Best Actress for Cotillard—the first for a French-language performance—and Best Makeup. His other films include Le Petit Poucet (2001), Crimson Rivers II: Angels of the Apocalypse (2004), My Own Love Song (2010), Grace of Monaco (2014) and Simone: Woman of the Century (2022).
