Biography
Oona Laurence is an American actress born on 1 August 2002 in New York City. She began her career as a child performer in regional theatre and originated the role of Matilda Wormwood in the Broadway musical Matilda, performing from March to December 2013 alongside Bailey Ryon, Milly Shapiro and Sophia Gennusa. She shared the Tony Honors for Excellence in Theatre award for the production.
Laurence transitioned to film with roles in independent features before portraying Leila Hope in Southpaw (2015). Subsequent credits include Pete's Dragon (2016) as Natalie, Bad Moms (2016) and A Bad Moms Christmas (2017) as Jane Mitchell, The Beguiled (2017) as Amy, and Lost Girls (2020) as Sarra Gilbert. She has also appeared in television series such as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit and Orange Is the New Black.
