Biography
Oscar Millard (1908–1990) was a British novelist and screenwriter. Born in London, he published a biography and a novel set in Belgium in the 1930s before moving to Hollywood, where he worked as a contract screenwriter for 20th Century Fox from the late 1940s.
His screen credits include the screenplay for Come to the Stable (1949), the story for The Frogmen (1951), for which he received an Academy Award nomination, the screenplay for No Highway in the Sky (1951), and the screenplay (with Frank Nugent) for Angel Face (1953). Later film work encompassed The Conqueror (1956), Song Without End (1960) and Dead Ringer (1964). He also wrote episodes for television series including The Alfred Hitchcock Hour.
Millard contributed articles on Hollywood to the Los Angeles Times and travel pieces to the New York Times.
