Biography
Óskar Thór Axelsson is an Icelandic film director and screenwriter. He graduated with an MFA in filmmaking from New York University and began making short films as a teenager.
His feature debut Black's Game (2012), which he wrote and directed, became one of the highest-grossing Icelandic films and won him the Edda Award for Screenplay of the Year. He also wrote and directed I Remember You (2017), Iceland’s highest-grossing film that year. Axelsson directed five episodes of the series Trapped (2015) and has worked on series including Stella Blómkvist and Operation Napoleon (2023).
