Biography
Ottavia Piccolo is an Italian actress. Born on 9 October 1949 in Bolzano, she made her stage debut at the age of 11 in a production of The Miracle Worker directed by Luigi Squarzina. She began her film career in 1963 with the role of Caterina in Luchino Visconti's The Leopard.
Piccolo has appeared in numerous films, including Metello (1970), for which she won the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival, The Widow Couderc (1971), Zorro (1975), Mado (1976) and The Family (1987). She has also worked extensively in theatre, notably with Giorgio Strehler, and provided the Italian voice of Princess Leia in the original Star Wars trilogy.
She has been married to Claudio Rossoni since 1974.
