Biography
Ousama Rawi is a cinematographer born on 3 March 1939 in Baghdad, Iraq. He grew up in Scotland and began his career in London in the early 1960s, shooting a short film that placed second at the Cannes short film competition. He worked as a news cameraman and in commercials before his first feature credit on Pulp (1972).
Rawi is known for his work on feature films including The Black Windmill (1974), Gold (1974) and Zulu Dawn (1979), and for television series and films such as Pirates of Silicon Valley (1999), The Tudors (2007–2010), Borgia (2011–2013) and Killing Jesus (2015). He won a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Cinematography for a One-Hour Series for an episode of The Tudors, along with Canadian Society of Cinematographers and Gemini awards for the same series. He was previously married to actress Rita Tushingham.
