Biography
Pepe Mediavilla, also credited as José Mediavilla, was a Spanish voice actor and voice director. Born José Fernández Mediavilla on 23 April 1940 in Barcelona, he trained at the Institut del Teatre before beginning his career in the mid-1960s at the La Voz de España dubbing studio.
He provided the Spanish voice for numerous actors, including Morgan Freeman in 54 films, and was known for roles such as Gandalf in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Spock in Star Trek: The Original Series, and the title character in Don Quixote (1992). Mediavilla also worked as a voice director and dubbed characters in films including Titanic and The Mummy. He died on 19 April 2018.
