Biography
Perry King is an American actor. Born Perry Firestone King on 30 April 1948 in Alliance, Ohio, he trained at Yale University, the Juilliard School and the Stella Adler Studio of Acting.
King made his film debut in Slaughterhouse-Five (1972). He is known for roles in Mandingo (1975), Class of 1984 (1982) and as President Blake in The Day After Tomorrow (2004). On television he played Cody Allen in the series Riptide (1984–1986) and appeared in guest roles including The Mentalist, Will & Grace and Cold Case. He received a Golden Globe nomination for the television film The Hasty Heart (1984).
King auditioned for the role of Han Solo in Star Wars (1977) and later played the character in the NPR radio adaptations of the original trilogy.
