Biography
Peter Elbling is a British actor and writer. Born on 29 November 1943 in London, he moved to Canada at the age of 19 and began performing as a folk singer before forming the comedy duo The Times Square Two with Michel Choquette in 1963. The act appeared on television programmes including The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, The Dean Martin Show and The Johnny Carson Show.
In the early 1970s Elbling joined the improvisational troupes The Second City and The Committee. He appeared in numerous television series such as Taxi, WKRP in Cincinnati, Laverne & Shirley, Rhoda and The A-Team, and in films including Phantom of the Paradise (1974), in which he also worked as choreographer, The Man with Two Brains (1983) and Once Bitten (1985). He has received Primetime Emmy nominations for writing.
Elbling co-wrote the screenplay for Honey, I Blew Up the Kid (1992) and has written satirical books and children’s stories. He has continued to act in later television episodes, including NCIS and Criminal Minds.
