Biography
Peter Franzén is a Finnish actor, author, screenwriter and director. He trained at the Theatre Academy of Finland and has appeared in more than fifty films and television series.
He is best known for playing King Harald Finehair in the series Vikings (2016–2020). His film credits include Mertsi in Dog Nail Clipper (2004), for which he received a Jussi Award for Best Actor, and roles in The Gunman (2015), Meander (2021) and The Abyss (2023). He has also appeared as Stepin in The Wheel of Time (2021).
Franzén has worked in Finnish, English and other languages. He made his feature directorial debut with Above Dark Waters (2013), adapted from his own novel, and was awarded the Pro Finlandia Medal in 2013.
