Biography
Peter McCarthy is an American film producer, screenwriter, director and editor. He attended film school at UCLA, where he met director Alex Cox and producer Jonathan Wacks.
With Wacks he established the production company Edge City Productions in Venice Beach. Their first feature was Repo Man (1984), which McCarthy produced. He went on to produce Sid and Nancy (1986), I'm Gonna Git You Sucka (1988) and Tapeheads (1988), on which he also contributed to the screenplay and story.
McCarthy directed his first feature, Floundering, in 1994. His producing credits extend to Roadside Prophets (1992) and later projects including Death & Taxes (2014).
