Biography
Peter Sumner, professionally known as Peter Malcolm Sumner-Potts, was an Australian actor, director and writer. He was born on 29 January 1942 in Waverley, Sydney, New South Wales, and died on 22 November 2016 in Sydney.
He worked as a high school teacher before beginning his acting career in the mid-1960s. His film roles include appearances in Color Me Dead (1969), Ned Kelly (1970), an uncredited performance as Lieutenant Pol Treidum in Star Wars (1977), Dowie Steed in The Chant of Jimmie Blacksmith (1978) and Tewson in The Survivor (1981). Television work encompassed a regular role in Spyforce (1971–73) and later parts in series such as Heartbreak High (1997–99) and Cluedo (1992).
Sumner was married to actress Lynda Stoner. He also presented on the children's programme Play School and directed a documentary on Meher Baba.
