Biography
Phil Burke is a Canadian actor born in Toronto in 1982. He trained at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York on a Board of Trustees Scholarship, graduating with an Associate Degree in Fine Arts in 2003, and has worked extensively in theatre as well as film and television.
Burke is best known for playing the Irish immigrant Mickey McGinnes in the AMC series Hell on Wheels (2011–2016), appearing in 49 episodes across all five seasons. Other television roles include appearances in Law & Order (2006), The Good Wife (2012), Chicago P.D. (2014), Billy & Billie (2015–2016) and The Good Doctor (2017). Film credits include This Is 40 (2012) and Dirty Weekend (2015).
