Biography
Philip Lanyon is a Canadian cinematographer and member of the Canadian Society of Cinematographers. He has worked as director of photography on several Star Trek series, including six episodes of Star Trek: Picard (2020), eleven episodes of Star Trek: Discovery (2019–2024), and episodes of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds and Star Trek: Starfleet Academy.
His other credits include Frontier (2018) and the short film Hiro (2005). Lanyon has over twenty-five years in the industry, having begun as an actor before moving into the lighting department. He has served as West Coast Vice President of the CSC and has discussed his use of Cooke Anamorphic lenses to achieve a cinematic look on Star Trek: Picard.
