Biography
Pierre Bertin was a French stage and film actor. Born in Lille, he began appearing in films in the 1910s and became a sociétaire of the Comédie-Française in 1931.
He is known for supporting roles including the Commissioner in Orpheus (1950), Adolphe Amédée Delafoy in Crooks in Clover (1963), Juliette's Grandfather in Don't Look Now... We're Being Shot At! (1966), the sous-préfet in Le Corbeau (1943), and Martin-Michaud in Elena and Her Men (1956). Other credits include Les Bonnes Femmes (1960) and Dr. Knock (1951).
Bertin also wrote librettos, including for the opéra-comique La Gageure imprévue (1944) and the radio opera Les Deux Rendez-vous (1951). He died in Paris in 1984.
