Biography
Pierre Jolivet is a French film director, screenwriter, actor and producer. Born on 9 October 1952 in Saint-Mandé, France, he began his career in the 1970s as part of a comedy duo with his brother Marc Jolivet before moving into film.
He collaborated with Luc Besson on the post-apocalyptic film Le Dernier Combat (The Last Battle, 1983), in which he played the lead role of The Man, co-wrote the screenplay and co-produced. Jolivet made his directorial debut with Strictement personnel (1985) and went on to direct films including My Little Business (1999) and Green Tide (2023). His film Zim and Co. (2005) screened in the Un Certain Regard section at the Cannes Film Festival, and The Night Watchman (2015) won the Golden Goblet Award for Best Feature Film.
