Biography
Pitt Herbert was an American character actor. Born in New York City, he appeared in numerous films and television series from the 1950s to the 1980s.
His film credits include Hud (1963) as Mr. Larker, Dear Brigitte (1965) as the bank manager, and The North Avenue Irregulars (1979) as Mr. Thurber. He also had roles in While the City Sleeps (1956) and Return to Peyton Place (1961). On television he appeared in episodes of The Twilight Zone, Batman, Bonanza, Get Smart, Mission: Impossible, Lost in Space, Hogan's Heroes and The Andy Griffith Show, among many others. Earlier in his career he performed on Broadway in productions including Winged Victory (1943), Galileo (1947) and Point of No Return (1951).
