Biography
Poh Si Teng is a Malaysian-American journalist and documentary filmmaker. Born and raised in Malaysia, she studied at San Francisco State University before working as a journalist for outlets including the New York Times and as a documentary commissioner for Al Jazeera English.
She produced the Academy Award-nominated short documentary St. Louis Superman (2019), which won a Critics' Choice Award. She later served as executive producer on Patrice: The Movie (2024), which received a Primetime Emmy Award for Exceptional Merit in Documentary Filmmaking. Teng has held roles at the International Documentary Association and ABC News Studios.
Her feature directorial debut, American Doctor (2026), which she also wrote and produced, follows American physicians providing medical aid in Gaza. The film premiered at the Sundance Film Festival.
