Biography
Rachel De-lahay is a British playwright and screenwriter from Birmingham. She was made an MBE for services to drama in the 2023 New Year Honours.
She trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art and the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts. Originally an actress, she began writing through the Unheard Voices scheme at the Royal Court Theatre. Her debut play The Westbridge (2011) won the Writers' Guild Award for Best Theatre Play and the Alfred Fagon Award. Subsequent stage works include Routes (2013) and Circles.
Her television credits include episodes of Kiri (2018), The Feed (2019), Noughts + Crosses (2020), The Eddy (2020) and Dead Ringers (2023), on which she also served as supervising producer. She co-created, co-wrote and appeared in the BAFTA-nominated The Last Hours of Laura K (2015).
