Biography
Rae Earl is an English writer and broadcaster. She is the author of the 2007 memoir My Fat, Mad Teenage Diary, drawn from diaries she kept as a teenager, which formed the basis for the E4 comedy-drama series My Mad Fat Diary (2013–2015). She is credited as creator on the series.
Born in Stamford, Lincolnshire, Earl attended Stamford High School and obtained a degree from the University of Hull. She began her career in local radio as a copywriter and presenter before moving into writing and broadcasting. Her other books include the 2014 sequel My Madder Fatter Diary and works on mental health.
